I am not a roller coaster guy, but I think I may need to make an exception for this. I am ready for a ROAD TRIP!!!

Adam Mar 29th, 2005 Link

That is awesome…You can count me in, i also am ready for a road trip…and a MINI rollercoaster…it can't get much better than that!

This sounds great. Unfortunately we will be just getting back from our honeymoon and cannot commit to the timeline. I will post back if we decide to take the trip anyways, but it's looking unlikely. :o( I think this will be a lot of fun.

marco Mar 29th, 2005 Link

HELL YEAH ILL BE THERE! Me and my MINI are all over that! Adam-we should take segawa with us, how great would that be

SEEKER Mar 29th, 2005 Link

Me and the “Little Bastard” have been looking forward to this. Put 1,000 miles on my Harly in three days all over Ohio last year. They got some nice roads over there, can't wait to cut my MCS JCW loose. This is going to be GREAT !

Ken Mar 31st, 2005 Link

It’s on the calendar and I love roller coasters!!

dennis d' menace Apr 2nd, 2005 Link

Sweet Justice.. I will be there!

David H. McKee Apr 3rd, 2005 Link

Do note that the date is June 18. The USGP in Indianapolis in June 19.

Just an FYI as I know a number of people who have run into scheduling conflicts.

dennis d\\' menace Apr 4th, 2005 Link

USGP???

Marco Apr 4th, 2005 Link

Oh, no….well, looks like ill have to go to the Montreal GP. UNLESS a track day at Indianpolis is organized? Its a long shot…

Steve Rosenblum (Club Vice President) Apr 4th, 2005 Link

Thanks for the heads up David..

It is a shorter drive from Cincinnatti to Indy than from Chicago.. There is a possiblility of a cool double header if one is willing to forgo Saturday Indy activities.

I know the MINI Car Club of Indiana usually hosts events around the USGP.

David H. McKee Apr 4th, 2005 Link

USGP = United States Gran Prix

Details of any kind of “official” events at the Motor Speedway have been less frequently provided than in previous years. We are kind of in a “wait and see” pattern for any news from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Trust me when I say we'll try to get the information up as it becomes available.

Marco Apr 6th, 2005 Link

Steve-i might be interested in a double header-but what kind of activities might we be missing on the saturday?

john Apr 6th, 2005 Link

Looks like fun, and we LUV coasters! We'll try to make it.

Steve Rosenblum (Club Vice President) Apr 6th, 2005 Link

Marco,

The Indy MINI club usually hosts several events around the USGP David (a few posts above this one) is a club board member, and will post info on their site as soon as it is available.

Richard Hicks Apr 17th, 2005 Link

I am very interested. Would we go together? I think this is about a 5 1/2 hour trip. Would we need to stay over night?

YEY

Adam May 3rd, 2005 Link

So are we gonna drive down there together? And if so when would we be leaving?

Steve Rosenblum (Club Vice President) May 3rd, 2005 Link

I will be leaving sometime Friday morning. We may hook up with the MINIsota Motoring Society near Indianapolis depending on the timing.

john May 4th, 2005 Link

Adam May 4th, 2005 Link

I will prob be leaving somewhere around 3-3:30 from Park Ridge on friday afternoon. If anyone want to make the drive with us you are free to join. I plan on just typing it into the nav and seein where it takes us.

I tried to get a room at that hotel you suggested, but i guess it is already all full. Does anyone know of any other hotels in the area?

dennis d' menace May 8th, 2005 Link

from the OL….

…By the way the official drive from Oxford to pki is not going to happen so we are trying to arrange our own. The CinnMINI group is talking about a meet and greet on Friday also. I don't know if Brikken posted this yet but here is the latest:

We have the plans in place in a big way for the June 18 event. Based on
the response we have received, it looks like there will not be a cruise
component to the event. However, we are offering the following perks:

. First ride of the day on IJ: ST OR Speed Lane Passes/ERT

* ERT in the evening on top park attractions

* MINI scavenger hunt inside park

* MINIs and MINI materials on display in park

* Sectioned off MINI area of the parking lot

* MINI judging for parade and parade through the park

* Free parking

* Breakfast and dinner are included.

The cost comes to approximately $45 for the day/ $20 for season pass
holders. We are working now to get this on our web site so your members
can register.

Woo hoo….

Lex Berezhny May 17th, 2005 Link

I am interested in going. Was there a decision made on a caravan making the trip down there? I just sent my Chicago MINI Club application yesterday so I'm new to the club and don't really know anyone. It would be nice if I could meetup with some of you before making the trip down there. I live in Morris, IL (near all the fun and twisty country roads *wink* *wink*).

Sherri May 23rd, 2005 Link

I think I am the only one in Kansas City that is going to PKI. Would like to know how to get the tickets for the day at PKI. Could someone help me out? Can't wait for a Mini road trip.

Steve Rosenblum (Club Vice President) May 23rd, 2005 Link

Sherri.. I still haven't heard about tickets yet.

There is a group from MINIsota who will be heading to Madison, WI on Thursday night, swinging down towards Peoria and then into Indy where a Chicago group will meet up with them at 1:00pm Friday for a late lunch, and motor in the rest of the way together..

dennis d' menace May 25th, 2005 Link

Ok folks… registration for tickets to PKI just went online!!!

On the website, www.pki.com, under Tickets, scroll to the bottom.
In the Company ID box, type BMWMINI. The price is $45.

I'm thinking that mid afternoon departure won't work for the 7 pm Chili-fest in Cinci. Likely have to leave CHI minimum at 1-130 pm. Plus leaving at 330 on a Fri afternoon to go around 80/90 to 65 will be brutal, adding an extra hour min. to the trip time.

Steve: What's the departure plans for the group having lunch in Indy? Like arround 9-ish?

Steve Rosenblum (Club Vice President) May 26th, 2005 Link

Yep.. somewhere around 9-9:30 is the current plan.

I know of 3 or 4 other cars interested in leaving in the morning. I will update the post with better plans after the Baseball Rally event

Adam Jun 3rd, 2005 Link

I will be leaving around 12:30-1:00 from northwest suburbs. If anyone wants to meet up let me know.

dennis d' menace Jun 4th, 2005 Link

if you happen to pass by Indy around noon-ish on the 17th, there's a group that will be meeting at Dreyer & Reinbold at 1-ish and will be motoring to Cincy together.

Motor on….

dennis d' menace Jun 7th, 2005 Link

woohoo.. got my tix today…!

minimine Jun 16th, 2005 Link

I waited too long for PKI BMWMINI corp tickets and now they are sold out. Any suggestions? Should I just buy regular admission tickets?
