The CMMC Needs Board Members!

If you're interested in getting more involved in the Chicago MINI Club here's your chance. The CMMC needs a few board members to help run the club. We need people that are enthusiastic about the MINI and have a little spare time devote to the club. The positions are as follows:

Vendor Liaison: Establish and maintain relationships with local and nationwide BMW/MINI merchants.

Events Coordinator: Lead the brainstorming process for MINI Club events both with regard to family oriented and motorsport activities.

If you're interested in either of these two positions please post to this thread (or email Steve@chicagominiclub.com by October 15th, and we'll follow up and inform you of the process by the 20th.

I thought Gabe was doing all that? And I must say doing a great job at that.

Unfortunately it's too hard for one person to accomplish :)

The decision to get a new event coordinator was made in Jan, by the board, at a meeting at Gabe's home.
What took so long to implement that decision?

How much time do you expect a board member to spend or need to spend on a monthly basis, on average?

Steve Rosenblum (Club Vice President) Sep 28th, 2005 Link

I would guess it would be 5 to 10 hours a month..

Part of it depends how much attention you would like or can give to the club.

We tend to try to meet in person once a month or so, and the rest of the time via e-mail.

Events coordinator may take some extra time for planning routes and activities, or working with others to try to plan monthly events.

Vendor liason has been not as well defined, so you would have a chance to carve out your own responsibilities for the benefit of the club..

If you want to contact me offline, shoot me an email and we can discuss further. I would be open to the Vendor Liaison role. Thanks!
