Upcoming Club Events

We wanted to share some info on some upcoming Club events that we are working on:

CMMC Spring Drive Sunday March 26th. This is our kickoff event to the spring driving season, although sometimes the weather is not very spring-like. This year we are planning a Poker Run where you will navigate to various locations to pick up playing cards. The person with the best poker hand at the ending destination wins. Starting time and location details will be announced as we get closer to the event.

Micro Car National: Saturday August 12th. This is the largest gathering of small cars (under 1000cc engines) that you can see. We will be planning a meetup and short group drive, and then spend the afternoon enjoying some interesting and unique cars.

The Michigan MINI Motor Club has invited us to some Co-Club events:

The Mad Dogs and Englishman British Car show in Kalamazoo Michigan on July 8th and 9th. This is a good half way point between Detroit and Chicago areas.

Overnight(s) tour of the Upper Peninsula September 22nd and 23rd, taking the Ludington to Manitowic Ferry across the lake and then driving Wisconsin over the Upper Peninsula. Planning info is listed on the Michigan Club forum.

Please let us know is you are interested in these Cross Club extended drives.

If you are looking for even more driving, be sure to check out this post on Road Trips and our invite to the Lotus Track Day on June 5th

Mad Dogs and Englishmen is a great show. Very worth while to go to. I have been to at least a half dozen of the shows over the years. The barns filled with antique cars and are awesome!!

I'm bummed I won't be able to make the Spring Drive. I'm getting married that weekend, so I *suppose* I have an excuse.

I'm definitely interested in the extended drives though…they sound like an excellent time, and an opportunity for some really great motoring!

I like the idea of the cross club events.

The Mad Dog Event is ink on my date book. I also lived in the that area and would be happy to plan a Sat drive “over the hills and though the woods” hitting a few vineyards along the way.

We can hotel in K-Zoo and be at the show 1st thing Sunday.
I;ve been in 20+ car museums and The Gilmore Car Museum this is one of the best in the lower 48.

I'll post more details in May.

I was actually thinking of taking my own trip to the upper peninsula. I was up there snowmobiling this winter and i saw some roads up near copper harbor that were amazing. Its a long drive but i think it would definitally be worth it. If anyone is interested in taking a trip up there separate of the planned one let me know.

I like the idea of a cross club event. The upper peninsula drive sounds like fun. We'll try and make the spring drive - might be away. And Steven - congrats on the wedding!

How about the reverse…Man to Kud, touring Petoskey and Charlevoix and Traverse City and taking the ferry back
