We will be taking another trip out to Raceway Woods Forest Preserves in Carpentersville on Sunday June 3rd. This forest preserve used to be the home of Meadowdale Raceway in the 1950s and 60s. Parts of the track can still be seen and explored while hiking in the area.
This is a great time to enjoy an historic and scenic spot, hang out with MINI friends, have a casual cookout. Leashed dogs are welcome (as long as you clean up after them).

WRAPUP: We saw a full-house at the Launching pad. MINIs and Austin-Healeys hanging out together. When we finally got started, we had 27 MINIs. Including 1 Classic and a couple of friends from the STL MINIs. With stops in Gardner for the 2-celled jail and restored diner car, then in Dwight for lunch and a group photo at the restored gas station, the trip started off with a bang. In Dwight, we’re joined by 3 Pontiac-area MINIs. We roll into Odell for another photo op at another gas station, then finally into Pontiac. When we turn the corner, we’re personally greeted by the Mayor of Pontiac! The weather was great and we were well received by everyone along the Red Carpet Corridor of Route 66. Great seeing old friends and making several new ones. Special thanks to Dan and Francis for putting the drive together.

Take a MINI day trip down part of Route 66. We are planning a drive to visit a number of small towns with a final destination of Pontiac.
Spring is here, and we will be teaming up again with our friends from the MilwaukeeMINIs club for a fun drive on some fun Wisconsin back roads.
WRAPUP: A sunny but chilly day drew well over 50 MINIs to our annual spring event. We had a casual drive up from the Chicagoland area to meet with members of the MilwaukeeMINIs and the Minis In Northernn Illinois clubs. We then took off on a 45 mile drive through Southern Wisconsin’s most scenic roads.. Our end destination was a stop at Twin Lakes for a (very) late lunch. Huge thanks to Theresa for helping with the route printing and arrangements, Francis, Arnie and Paul for input on the route, and Conrad the RoadWarrior for keeping us on the correct route
