Wrapup: Twenty some MINIs braved the early morning and cold weather to caravan down Sheridan Road and Lake Shore drive to the Auto Show. 40 club members were able to gain early admission to the show to get an up close and personal time to check out the MINI exhibit before the crowds. Huge thanks again to MINIUSA for all the work to secure this special deal for our club, and to Knauz MINI for helping us out with the tickets!!!

We are still working on plans for the Chicago Auto Show.
The tentative plans are for either Saturday or Sunday morning February 13th or 14th.
We will again be doing a morning group drive down Sheridan road and Lake Shore Drive for anyone who is interested.

fellow MINI owner Debbie Lind from Diver Acquisition and Retention, LLC has passed along information about a discount for MINI owners to attend the Our World Underwater show held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL on February 19th -21st.

MINIUSA has offered the Chicago MINI Motoring Club a very special deal to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mini. They are having an outing to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field on Wednesday August 26th, plus a pre-game MINI parade to get there. They have offered a ticket to the first 6 CMMC members who respond to this post.

The Windy City BMW Club has extended an offer for the Chicago MINI Motoring Club to attend their annual picnic held at the scenic Botanic Gardens on August 30th.

I participated in the Windy City BMW Drivers school event at Gingerman Raceway this past weekend, and had a great time.
My personal objectives were to have a good time, learn more about what my car could do at higher speeds, to improve my driving techniques, and to be able to say that I have driven my MINI to my limits on a racetrack.
