Drive-in Drive 09/12

 

WRAPUP: We had a small crowd of 5 cars, but a great drive on some really fun roads.  The leader got us lost a couple times (me), but we got back on track without too much drama.  Afterwards, we had a nice dinner with MINI friends.  The drive-in movie was not to anyone’s taste, so we bagged those plans for the night.

UPDATE  09/09/09:  The weekend movies are Sorority Row at 8pm and District 9 at 9:50pm 

Back by popular demand, we are doing a redo of last years drive, dinner and a drive-in movie on September 12th.

Enjoy a scenic drive, including a bunch of traffic circles, a dinner with MINI friends, and a  movie outdoors under the stars at the Cascade Drive-in, one of the few remaining drive-in theaters in the area.

When: Saturday September 12th  Meet at 4pm, back for dinner at about 6pm, and we will head over to the drive-in at about 7:30.  We will meet rain or shine.

Where: The Drive start and finish are in the Menards parking lot 220 W. North Avenue (just west of Rt. 59) [Map Link] Dinner is at Augustino’s located in the same mall area. The Cascade Movie theater is one mile east at 1100 North Ave [Map Link]

What is the Movie: No idea, but we will find out a week or so prior to the event  

What to bring:  A camera, bug spray, optional FRS radio (tuned to Channel 1, sub channel 1), your favorite MINI clothing and a smile.

NOTE: Admission for the Cascade Drive- in is Cash only, so be prepared!!

Why: Just for fun, and to hang out with MINI (and Mini) friends

    I’m in for the drive and dinner, but probably won’t stay for the movie (but I’ll drive there with people who are going because it is not far from dinner).

    Yea, not the best of movies in my opinion, but the Drive + Dinner will be good!!

    Come on! When the top billed character on IMDB is “bra clad sister” how could you pass that up. Seriously, I’m in for all of it. I’ve been itching to see District 9, which I hear is not bad.
