Kart Racing January 31

Our Annual indoor kart racing event returns in 2010 with a new venue, new racing format, and new prices!!
WRAPUP: 36 people showed up ready to do battle at Melrose Park Indoor Grand Prix. After an orientation we headed out to the track, and broke into 3 groups doing 4 races each on the large track. Many people hung out afterwards for pizza, conversation and bench racing.
Club Fast Guy awards go to Adam for turning in a blistering 32.67 lap, and Matt was a close second at 32.78
Huge thanks to Brett at Melrose Park Indoor Grand Prix for coming out on his day off to get us going, and for making this such a fun event.

WHEN: Sunday Jaunary 31st at 11:00 am
WHERE: Melrose Park Indoor Grand Prix (warning.. link does have sound) 2100 N. 15th Avenue Melrose Park Il, 60160
DETAILS: This year we will do a new format in addition to the new location.. Four open races of about 8 minutes each. Bragging rights will be determined by fastest individual lap times, not by overall place.
WHO: This event is open to Chicago MINI Motoring Club members, and friends of CMMC. You must be 18 or over and have a valid drivers license.
PRICING: This is a fantastic price for over 30 minutes of intense racing action..
$30 per person for current CMMC member and up to 1 guest.
$35 per person for Non-Members.
$5 per person if you would like to stay afterwards and hang around for Pizza + soda

Several of our MINI friends from the BMW/MINI Minooka Distribution Center will be joining us for this event.

I had a great time.. Lots of close racing, and not too aggressive. It was fun to hang out and visit with everybody.
