WRAPUP: A warm mostly sunny day brought out 5 MINIs to the car show out of about 30 cars. Fun time hanging out with MINI friends and checking out cool cars.
We did not get a chance to drive lunchtime laps, but a few of us did get some passenger laps thanks to Jim M.

The Windy City BMW club has invited the Chicago MINI Motoring Club to share in their Car Show held at Autobahn race track.
This is in conjunction with their Performance Driving Event held on the same day.
Come on out and show off your MINI!!

WHAT: A Car show/Car corral area, you can watch the performance driving school cars on track, hang out with MINI friends

We are having a car show – not a white glove concourse –just come show off your pride & joy. It will be between 10 AM and 2 PM on Saturday the 14th of May at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. The show is in conjunction with our High Performance Driving Experience. Register to show your car at specialevent@windycitybmw.com. Tell us your Make, Model, Year & Color so we can organize the display field.
Show off your car plus take the opportunity to watch guys and gals driving their daily driver (mostly) or their dedicated track car around the South Circuit. Instructors instructing; drivers driving; show-ers showing; everyone having fun. Even some of our event sponsors will have reps there to chat with – BMW of Schererville, Clearwater Capital Partners, Hagerty Insurance and Big Door Garage Suites. On track you’ll see many BMWs, but also Detroit iron, Jaguar, Porsche, VW, Lotus, Alfa, Aston Martin, Miata, Audi, MINI, Nissan, and Hyundai will be represented. Whew! Chat with the participants – and learn about their cars and what their inspiration was to have so much fun on track. You can see much of the track action from the covered porch atop the south timing building. Bring your camera. BTW, the Autobahn Café has really good sandwiches, wraps, sides and soft drinks for sale, so have lunch while you explore our event. No charge to enter but you’ll need to sign waivers at the venue entrance. Kids are welcome if accompanied by parents or legal guardians (to sign their waiver) but just be sure to keep them close.
