EVENT FOLLOW UP!

Hello Gang, Today started very early for a few members that met today in Gurnee. We had 8 MINI’s to start and picked up one more along the way to the MILE.

The cool part is you can print them at YOUR LOCAL Walgreens.

We drove to Milwaukee to meet another 24 MINI’s to drive in together. I think we had the single highest number of cars of any one group, with Vettes a close 2nd. Doing laps was fun, and Cliff made it really fun! While the laps were fun, the team running the Mile event at the MILE really needs some help. This was one of the most disorganized events I have ever been too. Unless there are major changes in how they run the event my 1st will be my last.

WRAPUP: A cold day brought out a half dozen CMMC members.

The three morning runs were in the dry, and the three afternoon runs were in the damp. A fun time was had by all!!

WRAPUP:

 About 20 MINIs showed up for a relaxed drive around some fun twisty roads.  One road closure forced a bit of backtracking and wrong turn-taking.  The museum was huge, with lots of really neat cars and antiques to check out.

Now that the weather is getting warmer and sunnier it is time to think about Motoring!!

Plans are still in the works for our April drive, but we are looking at the afternoon of Saturday April 14th..

Dustin will be leading a drive up to the Milwaukee Mile on Sunday May 6th. Starting location and time will be posted later.

We are working on a special Autocross event for Sunday May 20th. Details will be announced very soon!!

WRAPUP: After an early morning meetup with about 40 cars, we took off in groups of six to head out on some northerly fun roads. There were a couple of icy suprises along the way to get our heart rates up, but it was mostly a casual ride.

We took over the parking lot at the Jelly Belly factory, and were joined by an additional 20 cars from the Milwaukee club. After a factory tour, some hanging out and a group photo, we headed out on the second leg of the trip. A twisty low speed drive along the lakeshore allowed us to take in the sights and show off to the local residents.

We had a lunch in downtown Kenosha, with raffles prizes from Knauz MINI and Mike & Linda from Fabric Fusion (in Brown Deer Wi).

Overall a great drive, great weather, and great MINI friends. A perfect way to start off the driving season!! Huge thanks to Dustin for all the planning and organizing.
