We are still waiting for official details, but club member Cliff has worked with the Bavarian Haus Inn  to reserve a block of 20 rooms at a discount rate..

This hotel is located near the Mackinac bridge which is where we believe the event will end.

As   individuals make reservations we will deduct these rooms from the  room block.  Any rooms not claimed from this block will be  released on the cut-off date which in this case would be 7/12/13.

Reservations may be confirmed by club members with their individual credit cards.  We do not charge reservations in advance  and they may cancel without penalty up to 4PM on the day prior to   arrival.   Guests must call hotel directly at 800-732-9746  Reservations over the internet or through Travel Agents will not  receive a group rate.

Our group  would be $118.96 plus tax  per night.  This rate is for a lakefront room with two queen  size  beds and based on double occupancy.  We also  own the Americas  Best Value Inn.  Their group rate for the same type room but not lakefront would be $107.96 per night plus tax. August 3 is traditionally a very busy weekend.  You may call us directly  at  800-732-97456 for further info.

A parking lot full of MINI  Coopers would be very cool

We wll provide more information as we learn about it..  Current details are located at this Facebook link and this blog post

  1. We are thinking about heading out Friday afternoon, and staying in Grand Rapids. Anyone else want to do that, maybe we can get a group rate there too. We already found the hotel that we would like to stay at.

    • We haven’t decided if we are doing whole family or partial yet, so I haven’t locked into hotels.. Friday to Grand Rapids is a possibility for us, and we are considering looping Lake Michigan down the Wisconsin side on the way home.

      • We called that Bavarian Haus. They aren’t actually pet friendly, but said we can bring our Chihuahuas anyway. The hotel Nikki found in Grand Rapids is listed as pet friendly.
I’m trying to talk her into taking Monday off, and get a hotel somewhere Sunday night too.

  2. Should we do something special to indicate were from CMMC?

Tawana and I will make reservations and I’d already thought about going around the lake on the WI side.

  3. The date is the 3rd (2nd is a friday). I would like to go I’m just looking at the logistics of when and how. I’m a tad concerned that only 96 people have committed to going via Facebook. That’s a few short of the record.

    • Thanks Scott.. I updated the date info.
MINIUSA is currently working on a plan to rally out there, but logistics from Chicago will be tough since we need to be up there before 10:30 on Saturday (and we lose an hour for the time change). They are also working on a registration, and additional activities later into the day.

Even if we are short of a world record, it should still be a bunch of fun.

  4. After debating if we should just leave super early Saturday and drive straight to the bridge, Carrie and I decided to stay Friday night in Grand Rapids. We’re staying Sat. to Sun. @ the Americas Best Value Inn.

  5. I plan to do this trip with my nephew. I’ll keep checking back for updates on the trip details.

  6. I’m planning on going… even bought a mini just for the event… ok, not really. But my ’03 base model was getting a little long in the tooth (170k miles)… so I picked up a ’05 S with only 68k miles. Sounds like a great trip to break it in. 🙂

  7. I’m thinking about leaving Friday night around 6:00pm or so… anyone want to caravan? I know I want to take a nice relaxed drive up there and not hot foot it all the way… I haven’t planned too much around this, but I do know I have to wait until I get outta work to start the drive. Just kinda checking to see if anyone else wanted to head out there in a group on Friday night…

  8. Just booked our room at the Bavarian Haus~So excited…was able to get the day off of work 🙂

  9. I just booked today. I’ll be driving up Friday and leaning towards driving halfway up and stopping at Grand Rapids Thursday night.
