2nd Annual Baseball Rally – August 15th

Announcing our 2nd annual Baseball Rally.

This year we have worked out a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers for tickets and
goodies as a package, at a reduced cost for our members and guests. Here's the deal… Last year tickets cost $12.00 each for the seats we had. This year we were able to purchase the same level seats, near home plate on the third base side. We have worked a package deal with the Brewers that we hope
you will like. Tickets this year are $9.00 and include a Soda and HotDog, with each ticket. This is a great deal, but we only have 150 seats for
don't wait too long to save the date.

Can I get email for club events?

In the early days of the Chicago MINI Motoring Club (way back last year) we often sent out email notifications of upcoming club events.

We have been moving towards less notification via email, and instead relying on posting information here on our site. This is due to a number of reasons including worries about spam, email viruses, and the difficulty of maintaining an ever growing list of addresses.

There are many among us who would still prefer to be notified of events via email, and would rather not have to check this site every day for fear of missing a cool event

I would like to offer up a couple of options to make it easier to keep up with events.

CMMC turns 100

The Chicago MINI Motoring Club is now over 100 members strong!!! I want to thank everyone who has joined, and I hope we are doing a good job keeping everyone happy with the events we have been doing.

Calling out to all CMMC baseball fans!

We've just received word that we can reserve a block of seats to see the champion Marlins play the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, August 15th. Now we need to know how big a block of seats to reserve! E-mail us immediately at so that we can estimate how many people are interested in coming along. This should be a huge MINI meet, with participation from not only the Chicago club, but Milwaukee and Madison MINI motorers as well!

So talk it over quickly with your family and friends and let us know before this Thursday, 3/25, how many seats you'd like to take for this event, and e-mail us at ron@chicagominiclub.com ASAP!

Poker Run Wrap-Up

Thanks to Ron and everyone else who helped put this event together. Also thanks to everyone for coming out – what a great turnout! As is a budding spring drive tradition we had some nice snow showers and an unseasonably cold day. But despite this it seems as if everyone had a great time and learned a little bit about Chicago, MINIs, and poker!

If anyone has any photos they'd like to share either post the ULRs in the comments section or send them in via email (our email is in the lower right of this page) and will try to put together a photo-page later in the week.

Poker Run – Spring Rallye March 21

Spring is fast approaching, and as promised we have planned a Road Rallye for early spring. Infact so early, that it is scheduled for the first day of spring.

40 years ago Paddy Hopkirk won the Monte Carlo Road rallye in a mini. Maybe you can win the 1st ever Chicago MINI Poker Run!

Who: Open to all CMMC members, their navigators, and people wishing to join the club.

What: This is a Poker Run road Rallye.

Where: The start is at Knauz MINI, Lake Bluff.

When: Sunday, March 21st. Check in is at 10 am. Drivers/navigators meeting at 10:20am.

Why: It?s spring! Let?s put the windows down and drive!

Remember, as this Rallye is on a Sunday, Knauz will be closed (no bathrooms at the rallye start).

What?s happening: We will be departing from Knauz at 1 minute intervals beginning at about 10:30 am. This is not a race. There is really no advantage to being first, or last, as your fate is all in the cards you draw at each of the 5 locations. Prizes (of the nifty sort) will be awarded at the final stop to the best poker hand. A huge thanks to Mini Mania for helping us out with this!

What to pack?
Bring a map of the Chicago area. Bring someone who can read a map.
A cell phone and or FRS radio may come in handy if you need assistance (real men don?t need directions). Cash, or a credit card. As with most of our drives this one has food on the itinerary.

Where are we going?
Can?t tell you, it?s a secret. Actually at each of the first 4 stops, you will get a destination sheet along with your poker hand card.

Are we there yet?
We think we will be done between 3 and 4pm.

Sign me up, I?m lucky at cards?
