Wisconsin Overnighter 2012

MINI Parking

WRAPUP:? Another great roadtrip!!? We had 20 MINIs in attendance on a chilly but nice day.? After a late start we headed out to Monroe for lunch.? Their Chili festival was in full force in the town square.? Then we took off on the long?twisty route to New Glarus.? We saw the amazing fall colors, some wild life, animal sculptures, and lots of fun?roads.? We made it to?the New Glarus Brewery in time for a quick tour and?a beer stock-up for those that had extra room in their?trunks.? Huge thanks to Paul and Barbara for all the route planning, and leading and pacing the group!!

CMMC on Route 66 5/19

 

WRAPUP: We saw a full-house at the Launching pad.? MINIs and Austin-Healeys hanging out together.? When we finally got started, we had 27 MINIs.? Including 1 Classic and a couple of friends from the STL MINIs.? With stops in Gardner for the 2-celled jail and restored diner car, then in Dwight for lunch and a group photo at the restored gas station, the trip started off with a bang.? In Dwight, we’re joined by 3 Pontiac-area MINIs.? We roll into Odell for another photo op at another gas station, then finally into Pontiac.? When we turn the corner, we’re personally greeted by the Mayor of Pontiac!? The weather was great and we were well received by everyone along the Red Carpet Corridor of Route 66.? Great seeing old friends and making several new ones. Special thanks to Dan and Francis for putting the drive together.?

Take a MINI?day trip down part of Route 66.? We are planning a drive to visit a number of small towns with a final destination of Pontiac.?

Wisconsin Drive 4/22

Spring is here, and we will be teaming up again with our friends from the MilwaukeeMINIs club for a fun drive on some fun Wisconsin back roads.

WRAPUP:? A sunny but chilly day drew well over 50 MINIs to our annual spring event.? We had a casual drive up from the Chicagoland area to meet with members of the MilwaukeeMINIs and the Minis In Northernn Illinois clubs.? We then took off on a 45 mile drive through Southern Wisconsin’s most scenic roads..? Our end destination was a stop at Twin Lakes for a (very) late lunch.? Huge thanks to Theresa for helping with the route printing and arrangements, Francis, Arnie and Paul for input on the route, and Conrad the RoadWarrior for keeping us on the correct route 😉

MINI of Chicago March 17th

MINI Cooper?

WRAPUP:? We had about 15 MINIs show up for a march?beautiful Saturday hangout.? We had several new MINI friends and also a few old-timers stop by to visit.? MINI of Chicago provided chili, hot dogs, chips and drinks.? We were even treated to a free oil filter from the service department?to underline the importance of using the stock part in this vital application.? Huge thanks to Kevin for putting this all together, and hanging out all day with us on his day off!!

Auto Show Feb 11th

WRAPUP: We had about 18 MINIs participate on a cold early morning drive dow Sheridan Road and lake Shore drive..? Coupes, Countryman, Clubman, Convertibles, 1st Gen, 2nd gen,?JCWs,?Cooper S and Coopers.. We had em all.? We met up with a few additional people at the show, and got in nice and early to get an up close and personal look at the MINI exhibit, and sample the new roadster in person.? Huge thanks again for Bill Jacobs MINI and Knauz MINI for helping us out with the tickets, and to MINIUSA who were able to get us into the show early for a great day!!

Once again the Chicago MINI Motoring Club has been able to secure early entry to the Chicago Auto Show!!

Come on out and check out one of the largest shows in the world.? Thanks to our good friends at MINIUSA we will be able to get into the show an hour early to spend some quality time visiting and checking out the MINI exhibit.

Our good friends at Bill Jacobs MINI and ?Knauz MINI has provided our club members?50 tickets to attend the show.?

UPDATE 02/09/2012: Great news!!? We are in the show early, and we now have tickets for everyone who has responded on this thread (and the couple that have sent e-mails earlier)!!!???We will send out an e-mail?later tonight?to all who have commented here with emergency contact phone number and last minute details.?
