The Windy City BMW club has invited the Chicago MINI Motoring Club to attend their event touring the WeatherTech factory on Saturday October 12th
WRAPUP: Lots of cool cars, a tour of the factory and a delicious lunch.. We were treated to VIP parking, and a chance to view a lineup of WeatherTech race and street cars. We were taken on an extensive tour of the state of the art facility and then a fantastic lunch in the very modern employee parking lot. Huge thanks to Windy City BMW and WeatherTech for inviting our club to this event!!

WRAPUP: A cold and rainy day brought a smaller than expected crowd. There were only a few MINIs on display and a couple CMMC spectators, but a good assortment of BMWs braved the bad weather. We got a cool tour of the ZF transmission facility, and CMMC members won some great raffle prizes.. Congrats to David L for winning the MINI division, and to Jim M for taking 2 BMW classes!

Mini Mania Crosses America – We want to see YOU!
We are excited to announce that Don Racine, owner and founder of Mini Mania, will be traveling across the US towing his infamous 1960 Mini to take part in three exciting races: Glenora Wine Cellars US Vintage Grand Prix in Watkins Glen, NY, the Historic Festival at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT and the Vintage Grand Prix Au Grattan XXVII in Grattan, MI. The Mini is the featured marque at the 2013 Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival and Mini Mania is pleased to represent the marque in a single piece of Mini history. Don acquired the Mini in 2009 from racing champion John Unsbee.
Here is more information about each race:
WRAPUP: What a fabulous event!! MINI of Grand Rapids was a great host, and Chicago area people filled close to half the 30+ cars that convoyed out to St. Ignace. Friday night was fun to just hang out and watch MINIs cruising the area in all directions. Early Saturday, we gathered in a field and took off for a 15 mile drive thru some scenic back roads culminating with a drive over the Mackinac bridge. A party was held afterwards with plenty of time to check out hundreds of cool MINIs. We were a little short of the world record, but with 846 1/2 cars (the half was a trailer) it was the largest single gathering of MINIs in North America. We did get a record of the most cars playing a song on car horns, and the prize for the best dressed MINI was won by CMMC member Sean!!
