WRAPUP:  A chilly but sunny first day of spring made for a great season opener MINI drive..  Almost 30 MINIs met at MINI of Orland Park and took the 85 mile long back road route to the Indiana Dunes..   The Northwest Indiana MINIacs met us for Lunch with another 20 or so MINIs..  After lunch a short blast thru some twisty Indiana back roads and a stop at the visitors center before heading off to the Dunes. Special thanks to MINI of Orland Park for opening up on their day off for us, Alice H. and Phil and Pam E. for pre-driving the route, and Shawn R. and Matt M. for routing planning!!

Our good friends at MINIUSA were able to arrange for a limited number of passes to attend the Chicago Auto Show media preview day on Friday .

A great opportunity to experience one of the countries largest shows before it opens to the general public.

WRAPUP:  A great day at the Auto show.. small crowds and lots to see including the new MINI Convertible, JCW Hardtop and Clubman.  Thanks again to our friends at MINIUSA for extending this cool opportunity to our club!!

January is Kart Racing season for the Chicago MINI Motoring Club.  To satisfy our winter time need for speed,  we will be racing at K1 Speed in Buffalo Grove with their electric karts in a 3 race Grand Prix series.

WRAPUP: We had about 20 people participating in the grant prix format event. practice, qualifying and final.  Tight racing, a few bumps and spins, but a fun time for all.  Steve won the final, with fast time of the day going to Frank D. with a time of 19.579
