CMMC Spring Forward Drive March 9th

WRAPUP: A total of over 50 MINIs from the Chicago MINI Motoring Club and the MilwaukeeMINIs invaded the Lake Geneva area. We explored a few twisty back roads, and had a great time despite the not so spring-like weather. Francis raised quite a bit of money in Tom’s name with the MINIs Motoring Against Cancer banner, and associated raffle.

Huge thanks to Kevin, Dan, and Laurel from Knauz for opening up shop on an early Sunday morning and providing coffee and donuts to the caffeine and sugar deprived, Theresa from the MilwaukeeMINIs for teaming up with us, and to Dustin for planning the route and providing giveaways.

The Chicago MINI Motoring Club is happy to announce a new social monthly gathering in partnership with the Greater Chicago MINI Dealers.

Bill Jacobs, Knauz and Patrick MINI welcome us on the 2nd Wednesday of each month starting in Feb 13th at Knauz (6:30-7:30), March 12th at Jacobs.

Join us at the Host Dealer anytime from 6:30 – 8ish pm to enjoy time with MINI friends, finger food, beverages and a few surprises from the Host Dealer.

Patrick MINI Clubman Launch

Patrick MINI has invited the Chicago MINI Motoring Club to attend their launch of the new MINI Clubman on Saturday February 16th from 3pm to 6pm in their new almost completed showroom.

There will be food, music and several Clubmen (Clubmans?) to check out..

Auto Show February 9th

WRAPUP: A dozen MINIs braved the chilly morning and took a pothole strewn cruise down Sheridan Road and Lakeshore Drive to the Auto Show. We got a chance to see the new MINI Clubman and about 900 other non-MINIs on display.

Thanks again to Knauz MINI for helping us out with tickets and to everyone who came out to make a fun day, including a few MINI friends from as far away as Madison, Wisconsin!!

CMMC Club Elections

The CMMC Needs You! We have several positions open for 2008 and we’d like to invite interested club members to consider running. The open positions are:

President
Vice President
Treasurer
Events Coordinator
Communications/Secretary

To become a candidate, please send an email to Steve Rosenblum at steve@chicagominiclub.com. We would prefer that candidates have at least a year’s experience with the CMMC.

Candidates have until February 20th to announce that they’re running for one of the Board positions. We will then post a short bio/position statement for each candidate.
Voting, which will be via e-mail, starts on February 29th and will run for one week until March 7th. Current Chicago MINI Motoring Club members will be able to place a vote for each position.

The winners will be announced at the end of our Spring Drive on Sunday March 9th.
