Slow Member Packages and Sticker Delays

As some of you may know we've been very late in getting our member packets out to new and renewing members. Don't worry! We will be mailing them out next week. The hold-up has been the window stickers which have been printed a total of three times and finally (just yesterday in fact) come out perfect. We didn't want to send out the packets without them so we decided to just wait a few weeks.

MINI Golf – Grant Park October 24th

UPDATE 10/13/2004: We are still a go for this event. Plans are a little slow getting this together. We will have great parking (for the city-phobes among us). More details real soon

Come on out for a bit of MINI Golfing at the The Green at Grant Park in beautiful downtown Chicago on Sunday October 24th.

Plans are still in the works, but we are looking at golfing at about 4pm.

We are working on some special parking, and perhaps a bit of a drive around downtown beforehand!

We will have more info to follow as the date gets closer…

SCCA at Blackhawk – October 6th

Here is some info forwarded from one of our Club members…

“Drive your pride and joy on a real racetrack, in a non-competitive situation, with procedures to help keep you separated from other drivers, and instructors to assist you in learning how to better explore the limits of your car. It is called a High performance Car Control Clinic, and will be held at Blackhawk Farms on Oct 6th. It will be sponsored by the Chicago and Milwaukee regions of the Sports Car Club of America.”

Fall Drive – Starved Rock Oct. 17th

Save the date!!

We are working out plans for a Fall Drive to Starved Rock State Park in Utica Illinois on Sunday October 17th.

All the details are not in yet, but we will be starting from Patrick MINI in Schaumburg, gathering at about 8:30, and leaving at about 9:00.

We will be making a short rest stop along the way at Euroquipe in St. Charles. They are a repair shop for BMWs and Porsches, and now MINIs as well.

After that, one of our Club members has planned out a tasty route sampling some of the local roads down to Starved Rock, which may include a short stretch of gravel road (there will be an alternate route for those who don't want to get dirty). I am sure we will have a few highway miles on the way as well.

Fall colors should be hitting their stride, so it should be a nice day to hang out and have some fun
