WRAPUP: Close to 50 MINIs attended this spectacular event!!  The predicted rainy weather held off for the whole evening.  We took a winding neighborhood drive along some twisty roads, and looped a couple area cul-de-sacs..  We filled up the back area at Superdawg for a fun hang out, listening to DJ tunes by Source 1 DJ Services .  Huge thanks to Superdawg for hosting our club, and Arnie and Lena for the planning/coordination work!!

MINIs will be back at Superdawg on a prime time Saturday night!!  This year we will meet up beforehand for a fun little neighborhod drive so we can all arrive en-mass.

MINIs in Mackinac 8/3 save the date

MINI of Grand Rapids is putting together an event to attempt to break the Guinness Book World Record for the Largest Parade of MINIs

UPDATE: 05/24/2013  The time for the Bridge crossing/record attempt is set at 10:30 am on Saturday August 3rd.  Still looking into logistics of getting up there in time.

Coding event June 2nd

 

WRAPUP: We had almost 20 MINIs show up on a cold drizzly day.. Ram enabled many options.. several people came back for additional choices after seeing how cool they looked and worked on other cars.  A BBQ lunch followed, and a fun time was had by all.  Huge thanks to Ram from http://www.bmwminicoding.com/ for driving out from Madison and working all day setting options, and to Paul for organizing this event and doing all the cooking!!

MINI / BMW coding interest

Update: Mark your calendars! The date for this event will be June 2! Coding will be on a first come first served schedule starting at 10am. See you there!!

We’re thinking of hosting a coding day sometime in late May or early June. Similar to our garage day last year, this event will be about coding the MINI computer rather than making mechanical modifications.

Ram from Madison will be visiting us here in Chicago to facilitate this event.

Ram has a list of BMW and MINI codes on his website (and also on NAM for 2nd generation and 1st generation MINIs). Some popular options include:

  • Turn off bulb checks (for those that want to use LED lights without resistors)
  • Removal of navigation disclaimer
  • Side mirrors auto folding on lock and unlock (BMW only)
  • Auto closing of sunroof when rain is detected
  • Enabling rear fogs

Not all codes work on all MINIs and several factors including your MINIs build date, factory options and other variables determine compatibility.

If you’re interested please reply to this post the following:

  • Your MINI/BMW year (build date if you know)
  • Your MINI/BMW model
  • What coding option(s) are you interested in?

Pricing for codes will be $10/option or $50 per car if you want more than 5 options coded.

Spring Drive 4/14

 

WRAPUP: The weather was cold, but the roads were hot!!  After a drizzly start, 50+ MINIs took off for some backroad adventure in the Kettle Moraine area.  The sun came out and the roads cleared up for the second half of the drive as we sampled some of lower Wisconsin’s finest twisty roads.  We had people attend from as far away as Madison amd Michigan.  Lots of first-timers and a great mix of Milwaukee and Chicago club members.  Huge thanks to Beth and Craig for planning this event!!
