Knauz Garage Day Important Update

Unfortunately plans have changed for the Knauz Garage Day. Due to the attorneys getting involved we will not be able to do any work ourselves at Knauz and thus the garage day will not happen as planned. However Knauz as graciously offered each of us a chance to get complimentary inspections by their cheif MINI mechanic and ask any of those questions that we’ve always wondered about. So this event has really changed from an open garage to more of a MINI tech Q&A. This could perfect for the folks who also want to do a tech spec before heading out to various track events for the summer or just want to get a free check-up and learn more about their MINI.

That said, this may be dissapointing to more than a few out there who had hoped for some quality shop time at great facilities. However I’d like to thank the folks at Knauz who are still more than willing to host us and provide these complimentary inspections. And of course any work that you would like to get done, they will certainly help set up an appointment and offer a discount. Knauz will also offer a 20% discount on most parts as well.

So, for all those that expressed interested, I’d like to ask you let us know if you’re still interested. We’ll be creating a loose schedule in the next couple of days

And for all those that would like to have some sort of CMMC Garage Day, we’re going to try to put something together very soon.

Open Garage Day at Knauz MINI (4/29)

Knauz MINI and the CMMC are teaming up for an open garage day for all CMMC members. Knauz will be offering us several lifts and garage bays to work on our cars and 20% off all MINI parts throughout the day.

This is a perfect opportunity for the folks who have some mods or accessories to add to their MINI but don’t have the lift and/or the garage to help with installation. It’s also an ideal time to work on your car since Knauz will have a few MINI technicians on hand should any questions come up. And it’ll be an ideal opportunity to discuss mods and get help with installations from other MINI owners

When: The Open Garage day will take place on Saturday April 29th and will start around 8:30 am and go until around 1 pm.

Where: Knauz MINI! Just park near the MINI dealer at Knauz and meet inside. We’ll go from there!

April Events

Here is a quick re-posting of the next two events comming up for April.

Saturday April 22nd Brookfield Zoo. We are meeting up at a Krispy Kreme at 9:15 (a touch earlier than the original post time), taking a very short drive and off to hang out at the Zoo. There are still 16 free tickets remaining for club members and up to 3 guests. Check out the original post Here.

Brookfield Zoo April 22nd

Wrapup: Seventeen MINIs showed up at Krispy Kreme for donuts and little hangout time.  We took a short drive through the scenic Riverside area, and spend the rest of the day at the Zoo.

A fun time was had by all.

UPDATE: 04/10/2006: We will be meeting at the Krispy Kreme Donut shop at 5640 South Harlem, Summit Il. We will make our start time at 9:15 to be able to take a short drive through the Riverside area on the way to the zoo.

Help celebrate Earth Day on Saturday April 22nd by hanging out at the Brookfield Zoo!!

The Chicago MINI Motoring Club has secured 60 free tickets available for club members and up to 3 guests. You will still need to pay parking, listed as $8.00 on the site

We will be planning a meetup and short drive in before the Zoo opens. Due to the location, the drive will not be quite as involved or as exciting as our last drive.

WHAT: Meetup, short drive and a day full of hanging around Brookfield Zoo.

WHERE: The meetup location and short drive are not planned yet, keep an eye here for details as the event gets closer.

WHEN: Saturday April 22nd 9:30am

WHY: Just for fun.

DETAILS: We will hold tickets for the first 60 requests, and distribute them when we meetup for the short drive. If more people are interested, you are free to join up but will have to pay the normal admission rates.
