WRAPUP: L.A.T.E. Ride volunteers were treated to an extra special last minute suprise from MINIUSA.. They were able to pick up a MINI convertible on Friday evening and keep it through the entire weekend. Club Treasurer Francis was already planning on volunteering to drive a chase vehicle during the event, and decided to do an extra stint at the MINI exhibit. Photos and recap are from Francis:
The weekend starts easy enough. I pick-up my Horizon Blue Cabrio from Patrick MINI after work Friday and drove it home (top-down of course). The latest version of the Cabrio is pretty neat. But I’ll need a longer test drive before I turn my car in for a new one.

The Windy City BMW club has again made a special offer to the Chicago MINI Motoring club . They are offering us a discount for their driving school at Putnam Park on August 22nd and 23rd as well as including a years membership to the BMWCCA. This is a fantastic opportunity to improve your driving skills and enjoy testing you and your cars limits in a safe controlled evnironment.
The 7th Annual MINIs On The Dragon (MOTD) will be taking place on April 29th thru May 3rd. Drive some fantastic roads and hang out with 600 of your closest MINI friends.

WRAPUP: Fantastic weather made for a great weekend at the track. The Windy City BMW club did an excellent job with organization, attention to details, safety, and making sure everyone had a good time. There were 5 or 6 MINIs participating and they are hoping for more in the future. This is a wonderful way to learn what you and your car can really do in a safe and controlled environment.
